Did you hear that folks? Listen to Unreleased Prince Songs 'Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden From 'Purple Rain' Reissue
I can dig it. It sounds great. Completely fits in with the time period its from, but not out of place today (the man was genius, let's face it). I still don't know where I stand with releasing songs from his vault, but outside of that, it's a lot of fun.
Heard Prince in three different places Saturday night and it was amazing. Around The World In A Day is still a great album.
I like Hannah`s cover. One thing, I'm not native english speaker, can you guys tell me, does she have british accent?
Hey, kind of a weird question/request. I'm trying to sort of study solos by artists I like to fine tune and develop what it is I like about certain solos. Are there any solos by Prince that you love and are also not impossible to learn by ear? I really enjoy his playing on the albums I've listened to, but I have a more casual, childhood association with his albums and almost always reach for Purple Rain if I'm listening to Prince, so I also want to fill in my blindspots with this.
thank you both very much! will check it out and hope for the best. i tend to get easily frustrated doing stuff by ear, but man...learning something by Prince would make me feel incredible
He didn't do the storytelling lyrics all that often, but fuck he was good at them. As detailed as Petty or Costello or any other major songwriter, but always a little off kilter and quirky. "Raspberry Beret", "When You Were Mine", that one, etc.
FUUUUUUUCK yes. I wish there was a little more of the stuff he wrote for The Family, but that's a quibble.
