Prometheus and Covenant have some good moments because Scott is a very talented director but the lore and the overall story just doesn't really work. The "oh yeah the Engineers you cared about to come back for the sequel all died in a flashback and also Shaw didn't test well as the new Ripley so we killed her off too" would not be forgiven in most franchises.

 

Pretty much everyone agrees that 3 was ruined by killing off the other survivors but then they literally did the same thing again in Covenant.
