Actually had a craving to randomly watch Covenant last weekend. It was $2.99 to rent for a month on Amazon so I pulled the trigger. Yeah I don’t get the criticism for that film. Absolutely brutal in the best way and some really cool shit in there. I guess the biggest disappointment was it not being a Prometheus sequel like was heavily speculated/implied.

 

i doubt very many people were actually disappointed it wasnt prometheus 2.

 

Idk I feel like there were at the time but you could be right.

 

I feel like that one is a painfully bland Alien clone with pieces of a promising Prometheus sequel tacked on

A great cast and somehow so lifeless, a frustrating movie

 

Not sure how it isn't a Prometheus sequel. Sure, we didn't find out why the Engineers wanted to kill humanity, but on the other hand, isn't that an obvious answer? We fucking suck.

 

i just mean its an alien movie. yeah it shares a universe and shit with prometheus but meh. i mean they purposefully kinda cut most of that out actually.

 

Feel like it's actually a really great combination of the mythology of Prometheus and the terror of Aliens, which is why I love it so much
