Predator 2 is the sweatiest movie I've ever seen

Predator 2 absolutely rips, no I will never stop posting this every time it comes up

 

And we learn the origin of said pistol at the end of Prey

 

Predator 2 should be a slam dunk but instead it's just a pretty good 80s cop movie that happens to turn into a Predator movie in the last like 30 minutes. Predators gets the edge for the samurai sequence alone

I don't really understand the hate for The Predator beyond the autism aspect, which I'm not exactly expecting these films to handle tactfully. It's literally just big, dumb fun

The Predator didn't work for several reasons. Namely I didn't like it because it It was too much Whedon-esque lame humor that a lot of franchise films in the 2010's had that felt tonally off for the Predator series.

 

Predators also had a pretty sick twist

 

I haven't actually seen his Predator movie lol but hasn't Shane Black been doing that type of humour since before Whedon was on anybody's radar?

 

It was definitely more cringe wink at the camera pop culture referencey shit than anything from Lethal Weapon

 

I would say The Predator did suffer through a ton of rewrites and reshoots due to studio interference after they saw the original cut.. I mean the ending was filmed a week before the premiere! The movie was a mess so I always wondered what Shane Black's original cut was like.

Also I just remembered that one Reddit ass scene where Olivia Munn (trying her best) is like "Ermm actually they are not technically predators because they hunt for sport not sustenance!"

 

Idk, I watched The Predator last night and had a blast lol. I understand most of the complaints but also think it's literally just big dumb fun and I'm not sure what else these movies are supposed to be. I enjoyed it more than probably 90% of Marvel flicks I've watched.

 

The main thing I remember about The Predator is a sex offender films a scene with Olivia without her knowing it correct? And the producers/Shane Black did know I’m pretty sure?

 

Love Predators. It’s the film in the franchise I revisit the most, but the original and Prey are also great

If it weren’t for the bts stuff and magical autistic character trope souring the movie for me, I’d really like The Predator. As for Predator 2, I wouldn’t call it bad but it’s just too silly for my taste

 

Yeah, I actually forgot about this bit. Not good. She called them out and they removed the scene, thankfully, but still, super shitty.

I enjoy Predators every time I watch it, I just never remember it aside from Laurence Fishburne, the samurai sequence, and the twist.
