starting to really feel this new song

 

Finally got around to listening to the new song and I listened to it four times in a row. It is supreme

 

Yup couldn't resist and listened a few more and it's stellar, been listening to Kingfisher too as well, forgot how many great songs were on there and of course the rest of their stuff still holds up too

 

the "North Lynx" youtube video says:

"From the album "Mean Well" by Prawn —available September 22nd, 2017 on cassette, vinyl, CD, and digitally through Topshelf Records."

I guess this was almost called Mean Well lol

 

nah mean well is the name of the queen moo record

actually going to be very curious what the crowd thinks of this one. I think it's definitely below Kingfisher but it's still early, this band always grows on me. Hard to match up to the hooks and polish of the last one.

 

Kingfisher took a while for me to love because of the polish and vocals. Seas from the movmou split is prob my favorite song of theirs. Anything like that here?

 

I think Kingfisher is their best work. I love pretty much everything about it from the hooks to the musicianship to the added layers of strings/horns to the production. Oddly enough, I don't listen to it nearly as much as I did back in 2014, yet, every time I do, I question why I don't listen to it more often.

The songs from the MovMou split and the Joie Dr Vivre split are great too, but I think Kingfisher is, by far, their crowning achievement.

First listen to the new song today for me as well. Was good on first listen, but anything they do will be tough to top Kingfisher. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course

 

Yeah north lynx is a very strange single. Not a good representation of the album. I like that song probably most

That's kinda disappointing I love North Lynx, is the rest closer to Kingfisher?

 

the rest is closer to songs like the first two on Kingfisher or settled, it's a generally upbeat record

but less hooky and more raw

Soooo bummed it's not coming to Utah... That's a GREAT lineup
