Like i could have easily met the band, they were all at the merch table before and after the show. It was just odd to me, not use to that type of setting where they are so accessible.
i saw balance and composure at the same venue and it was packed last year. it was just odd being at a show and hardly any one there lol
why would they not play more songs though ? since they are a headliner ? Also it seems they would want to attract more fans?
that's about a normal set for smaller bands, why would a band that isn't necessarily drawing people to see them (the locals and venue are pulling people as well) play such a long set to a crowd that doesn't know all of their music? that's actually a long set for them, hah. of course they want more fans but they aren't a big band and you need to play smaller shows to get more fans
so do they make their money off of ticket sales? or does the place that books them give them a flat rate? curious because there was probably only 35 people who paid to get in there
I book shows and it’s usually 8-10 at the door and the venue either takes a dollar or 30% depending on the space
geez thats not much to live on for them , which maybe it was just our state that doesn't bring them very many fans. i actually think they are pretty solic
bands should never play sets longer than 40-45 minutes unless they are, like, The National or something
Yeah, or some sort of discography show or reunion show or some special occasion so you know ahead of time what's happening
yeah im pretty into pearl jam and they play 3 hours! obviously i know they are a huge band, but i think a headliner should at least play an hour and a half ? agree?
as i said, these bands are not used to playing close to that long, they're used to playing in houses and tiny places with four bands that nobody knows. why should a band play 20 songs if only a small part of the crowd knows half of it?
Also, this band probably doesn't even have two hours worth of material they would likely choose from these days, so an hour and a half would be a very large chunk of their discography from Ships onward.
there isn't a band in existence that i would ever like to see play for more than 40 minutes, ever ever ever.
after seeing Hirs play for 15 min I'm not convinced bands need much more than that anymore only half kidding
