Most of my initial gripes have worn away after 6+ listens and now I really love this album. Anyone who's not feeling it yet, please keep persisting with it, it's a huge grower.
honestly i haven't even been able to get through 1 full listen. too many other good albums to listen to from october, its insane.
Same, except I might've gotten through it once, and I loved Kingfisher. I will give this some time at some point, but man, this year is so packed with so much good stuff to check out, this has been put on the backburner unfortunately.
It’s such a huge grower, didn’t really click for me until I was 6 or so listens in, now quite likely my aoty
The end of Leopard’s Paw is one of my favorite things they’ve done. I really liked this album when it came out but haven’t listened recently, I’ll have to change that tomorrow.
This album is amazing, going back to it the past few days has been an absolute joy. Once I stopped thinking about Kingfisher and took this as a separate entity, I was able to enjoy it way more. I think it was good that I stayed away from it for a bit and just returned to it because it's hitting all the right notes for me.
i think it's even with kingfisher for me...they are for different times/places i think. although i don't think i've listened to kingfisher since this came out and i've listened to this a lot so
Kingfisher is leagues better than this album, maybe one of the best albums this genre has produced. This one just kinda sounds like every other emo album. I wish I didn't feel that way though... I'll keep trying with this record, but it just doesn't do it for me like their older stuff.
After more time with it, I would definitely put this behind Kingfisher for their best album, feel like songwriting wise it’s a good direction for them but the production kind of holds it back for me. Still very excited to see these songs live in Boston though
its hard to determine which one is better, two very different records. I think Kingfisher feels a bit more cohesive and the production is phenomenal. I think this one is a bit more raw in approach, I really like both albums.
leopards paw and short stem are the best songs on here, i like it when they are a bit more subdued/post rockish.
