My first listen to this was really underwhelming Not gonna listen again until there's a better quality stream/when it officially releases
i'm sad :( i didn't love it but it's just a bummer to see other people having negative reactions to it
i definitely don't think it's bad (i do like it!) it just hasn't hit me yet like kingfisher did. definitely needs some time but i think it's a good album at the very least.
taking my first listen... i liked Kingfisher and the MovMou split because of the improved production, so im a little hesitant. Opener is cool.
the production dropped a bit but I do feel like it still has a few of those post rock elements from the last record its just a bit more upbeat... Idk i've listened twice and I enjoyed it way more on my second listen, hope you have a similar experience.
Trying to the rank this against Kingfisher after one listen isn't a great idea imo, lately I'm realizing how much I still love that album but on second listen this is already sounding pretty nice and I do think there are songs here that are gonna be at least as good as the high points on there
hit north lynx on my listen through. the outro is huge, ive obviously listened through it a couple times but it hit me like a ton of bricks this time.
Whole song is so varied yet so cohesive, might be my favorite song of the year at this point. Hope the video they made is for that
I've been listening non-stop at work today, really enjoying this. I do kind of miss the strings, horns, and more polished sound but their absence doesn't have a negative impact on the album. The bass really stands out here.
Sure sure I see that. I'm not really trying to pit this against kingfisher, but on its own it's just doing nothing for me. I hated the first track, everything else was just meh to OK.
I wonder if this is the band's Damage (JEW). I haven't listened to the album myself yet, but I love the singles.
I think Kingfisher is up there for best sounding records, but Harmlessness and Dealer are pretty much the ones to beat for me personally
