Power Rangers Teaser Posters Need Dino Zord Power Now First footage will be shown October 8th at NYCC. Also, I didn't really notice it but....holy fuck the photoshop on the black and blue rangers is god awful
Cautiously interested in this movie. Am I the only one who thinks the red ranger looks like Iron Man from the neck down? Edit Wow, I'm way behind haha. Apparently I'm not so clever, now seeing various headlines about that comparison :p
This could be awesome. Loved the MMPR series as a kid, had the biggest crush on Amy Jo Johnson. I hope it's like, a proper, gritty action movie that has a good blend of CGI and practical action scenes. I know Power Rangers were originally designed for young teenagers, but I hope they don't fuck it up like the new TMNT movies. (Granted, I haven't seen the second one...)
I kinda love the idea of the Breakfast Club but with Power Rangers, I know they also said Spider-Man has a John Hughes feel which also sounds cool
I like the trailer but the slowed down modern indie remake of classic songs in trailers is approaching parody status
I'm a fan of what I saw. Got some breakfast club vibes too, and I like the idea of them stumbling upon the power coins and seeing alien abilities begin to show from exposure. Easy take on things sure, but this trailer sold the story well.
Liked the trailer. The tone is what I was most worried about, but it showed a good balance of serious/camp it seemed.
My biggest concern is still the costumes, and unsurprisingly, that isn't really addressed here, lol. Also not surprising that the trailer downplays what this is until the end and goes for a more epic sort of feel. This feels like a Transformers film with a touch of a Spider-Man film and, yes, a sort of Breakfast Club starting point. As long as the film itself has enough humor and heart (and the suits don't look like garbage in action), I'm still down.
I haven't watched the show in like 22 years so this is probably a dumb question. Did they actually have/acquire powers like that? Could've sworn they just got suits.
In some later seasons the Rangers either had inherent special powers or were given powers that could be used in civilian form. So what we saw in the trailer isn't really that weird for current day Rangers. I want to say that the first season to do it was.... Hmmm... Ninja Storm? Wait, no, Time Force had a few minor civil powers. Although not all of them did.
Yeah, back then they didn't really interact with each other in high school, all had different hobbies though none of them were in "trouble" like the red ranger seems to be when this starts off. Zordon discovers the threat of Rita returning, and has Alpha choose 5 young warriors with good hearts to helm the suits and acquire the "power." Only after morphing for the first time they're faster, stronger, etc. So it's a little different, but not a huge jump.
