The Walla Walla fair was in town but I didn't go cause our rodeo is in town soon and I guess that's sort of like a fair. If fairs are hell. I'm already trying to plan out like ok I need to get groceries on this day and then plan on walking to work these days. Hoping if I go to the gym in the mornings I can find a parking spot near my apt and then just walk in the afternoon and evening
Small town events suck because the towns just aren't designed to hold that many people. So then everything shuts down. Schools have to shut down so trailers can park on their lots. Other places shut down cause ppl don't wanna work or ppl forget their appts so businesses don't bother even operating. It's a hot mess and I live right in the eye of the tornado. Heavy sigh. It's like cool how can we accommodate a town of 17,000 getting 50,000 people guess we'll all just pack in and be miserable
that kinda happens here with parades but thankfully I can just avoid them, but it's more just a traffic issue then a volume issue, that sounds like a nightmare
It's really hard to explain the MN state fair to people who have never been. It's the biggest fair in the country. It's fucking huge. There's so much food and stuff to do. Everyone goes.
it makes sense that Minnesota and Wisconsin would have big state fairs because you need to carbo load to endure those fucking winters
we have fried butter at the wisconsin state fair. i'll try almost any of these fatty fried foods, but that is one i've definitely refused haha.
these are both accurate, but I put up with both for the food. the people watching is also good. just did three days (mostly working, but still took an hour or two to walk around each day) at the state fair, and going back to the hometown fair this weekend. bring on the cheese curds.
I just remembered another downside to the rodeo is all my fave restaurants are too busy to eat at. And also some of them have a "special menu" for it which means less options than usual for a higher price. Sigh. It's only a week.
You all are making me want the fair to be now but it’s not until like February At least there’s fall festivals in the mean time
I'm hitting up all the fall festivities and eating all the apple cider donuts in sight Last year I was sick like the entire season of fall so this is my year of redemption
