Hawaii was seriously the best. We did Road to Hana one day, and we stopped one place because the map said there was a "scenic waterfall", so we went to the first one, it was awesome, took lots of pictures, went to the next, it was bigger and more beautiful, went to the next, even bigger and more beautiful, and so on. Like each one was better than the last. Towards the end we did a 2 mile hike to one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Like a 40 story-tall waterfall. I wish we passed on the first two or three and just spent all the time at this one because it was just a surreal moment. Hopefully this image works. Not mine, but this is it.
I used to want to go to Hawaii but now it's all my mother and stepdad talk about because they go every few months for "work" and it's really soured me on ever going
I would love to have the money to go for a month and island hop. I only stayed on Maui, but it's a whole different lifestyle over there, I wish I could have stayed longer and gone to other islands.
This was the hike we did. The "Bamboo Forrest" was just as surreal as the waterfall (scroll down to picture # 20ish). When the wind blew, the bamboo click and clacked against each other, it sounded like hallow wind chimes. The air smelt musty, but also pure and clean. It felt like a scene out a Japanese fighting movie. Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls
Cuz that's literally all they talk about when they come visit. "Hawaii this, Hawaii that" really fucking irritating.
well, that should tell you how fucking awesome it is there, even at the risk of becoming an annoying fuck
It just feels like they're flaunting it though. Also my sister has gone with them several times but let's not get into that lol
I have an irrational fear that if I went to Hawaii a volcano would erupt and I would die. Friends will talk about wanting to hike them and see magma or lava or whatever and I'm like !!!!!!!!! Death
Three different people texted me about that whole volcano thing before I heard the news by my own means, so it scared the crap out of me at first haha. We’re on Kauai though so it’s not affecting us.
My gf’s parents live here a lot of the year (not right now) but yeah they used to be like this as well. It was definitely kind of annoying lol. Might have low key kept me from caring about coming here earlier too. They’re here so much now though that I think it stopped being special for them so they don’t talk about it as much. To be fair, the hype has been worth it for the most part!
