Hubris' next album looks to be fully recorded and is now off to be mixed and mastered. Nordic Giants has a new album out next month, but it appears to be exclusively a physical release, and they're only shipping to the UK and some other parts of Europe. So fuck those dickbags. I look forward to pirating it. Also some other stuff: Thistle Sifter - Forever The Optimist Tethered Hands - How We Live is How We Die
DEADTREES - New World Instrumental black-metaly post-rock (or post-rocky black metal, idk which) with keys, strings and horns
As Seas Exhale - Boreal ambient, minimalist, very slightly folky, with some classical and electronic elements I wish it was a bit less ambient, but fuck me if this isn't crazy pretty.
Turns out we're getting a digital release after all. Might not be on release day itself (which is next Friday), but should at least be within the following few weeks. Now the question is, do I remain a man of my word and still pirate it, or do I acknowledge my insane knee-jerk overreaction, walk it back, and buy the album (assuming I enjoy it)? Much deliberation awaits.
Nordic Giants - Under Celestial Alignments Under Celestial Alignments, by Nordic Giants None of it's actually available to listen to unless you purchase it. But there is a listening party happening in half an hour.
This Nordic Giants album is beautiful. I've never been to a Bandcamp listening party before but it's cool they're in there chatting with people as we listen.
Same re listening party virgin. And yeah this might be my favourite album of theirs, by a possibly large margin. Instant AOTY contender.
Last Nordic Giants post. The whole album, with each track uploaded individually and out of order, is now on Youtube:
Actual last Nordic Giants post for real this time: Under Celestial Alignments is now on streaming services
We Stood Like Kings - Pinocchio Piano-laden, classically-influenced post-metal. Easily their heaviest album by a fair margin, for those who may already know them.
