To anyone who remembers Athletics from like 10 years ago, they've reunited and will be releasing new shit next year.

To anyone who doesn't remember Athletics from like 10 years ago, behold:

RIYL: Moving Mountains and... you know... bands like that. Slightly post-hardcore-y, emo-y post-rock

 

This is so good. Had no idea who they were. Went back and listened to their 2 records and they are amazing. Highly recommended!

 

I still randomly get their songs popping up in my head so I’m super stoked for this.

 

IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING

 

Hopefully Athletics getting back together means represses of their old albums. Can't wait to hear their new stuff, too.

Passage - Oblique

Very pretty, downtempo, "cinematic" (I hate that tag), neo-classical. Like Once Upon A Winter on opiates.

 

Not new or anything but wanted to celebrate the fact one of the most underrated albums in the genre is finally being released physically:
