Probably my favourite Post release this year: First album (Wait) is also very much worth checking out if you don't know them.
At the risk of sounding like a basic ass normie, I wish TTOL was just a bit less weird. They do so many things I like, but they put them all together in a way that never fully clicks with me.
I get that. It tickles me the right way, but it does make it so they’re not a band I can listen to any time, I have to be in a certain mood.
The opening pair of songs just has me sitting here with a goofy-ass smile on my face. I LOVE this so far.
I like both of those things. This sounds great from the first few tracks. 99 monthly listeners on Spotify... Where on earth are you finding this stuff @White? I swear you're the primary reason my friends think I'm cool. You're like a cheat code for shockingly under appreciated instrumental music.
Wish I could take credit for finding that, but I swiped it from WherePostRockDwells - who are on both Youtube and Facebook for any interested parties. I'd post links but I'm on mobile/a lazy asshole. Man if I'm helping you look cool, your entire social circle might need to disband. That high a concentration of uncoolness isn't good for any of you.
I could never do that to them. If we dared disband they would never listen to anything released after 2009. It always baffles me how much people who love music cannot be arsed to listen to anything beyond what they listened to growing up unless it is put on a plate for them. WherePostRockDwells is a great account. I don't see their posts so much these days as I rarely bother with social media, so thank you for your service.
Oh boy those kinda people used to truly truly infuriate me back in my self-important, twatty teen years. Them and the "I listen to a bit of everything" crowd. Well here's some Danish folk metal then and if you don't like it then I demand you edit your Myspace profile immediately so help me Christ. WPRD has become a bit sparse on FB anyway, but they upload to Youtube quite regularly. I only ever post a fraction of what they post, so anyone relying primarily on this thread, you're missing a bunch of stuff.
New single from one of the many Anoice side-projects, "noctiluca" by films: Neo-classical, atmospheric, ambient electronic posty type stuff. RIYL: the NieR:Automata and Replicant soundtracks Album out September 8th
I was worried the vocals were gonna ruin that album for me, and it turns out that's exactly what ended up happening.
For the however many A Burial At Sea fans in here, their next which was supposed to be out this month got pushed to March.
Requiem - POPulist Agendas RIYL: experimental second-wavey sort of things. Reminds me a bit of TWDY but kind of floatier and dreamier. Also, for those who haven't found a reliable method of piracy, it's free.
