Yeah this is killer. Definitely hearing some Caspian in there. Added the album release date to my calendar as this is definitely one to watch. Excited for July 8th!
Millions Moons - Gap in the Clouds FFO: Caspian, God Is an Astronaut It's a tiny bit generic admittedly, and maybe a bit longer than is justified, but as debuts go it's still really solid.
Found this review amusing (I admit I haven't listened to the full album): VoS | Astodan - Évora Apparently the Deftones have "become a bit stagnating and irrelevant for maybe a decade" and "If the Deftones had been listening to the releases by dunk!records and Consouling Sounds, their music would very likely hold more appeal and relevance". Wow.
This is out tomorrow, but was just listening to the 2 pre-release tracks and I'm really excited for it. Heavy-ish post-rock, not quite to the level of post-metal, from members of Locrian, Cleared, Bloodiest, Pelican, and Chord. RIYL the heavier more "rock" side of El Ten Eleven: EDIT: Full album is streaming here - RLYR (mems. Pelican, Locrian, Bloodiest) Rocks On New Self-Titled Album (Full Album Stream + Interview)
Canadian trio Yoo Doo Right dropped one of last year's most slept-on post-rock records in the form of their debut and they're back next month with an album that blows it out of the water. Two songs streaming now - one of them is the 17-minute(!) closer so you should absolutely wait to hear that in context.
A Canyon in the Sea - Lost Landscapes Crescendo-y post-metal/doom-gaze with electronic/ambient elements. Also free.
I believe so - the message they sent out via Bandcamp is tagged with #SonorousFaithPt2. The rest of the message is in Thai though so maybe they're just trolling English speakers.
Looks like this will be TWDY’s first show in over two years. Guess we’ll find out if Chris is still a part of the band or not. Also, find it interesting that they are supposedly moving forward with just the acronym as their name at this point. Their website is also public domain now. Perhaps more is on the way???
