Secret Gardens - Tundra

Chill, kinda mid-tempo ambient post-rock that's not quite as generic as it sounds. Or maybe it is. Or maybe I don't have the vocabulary to describe it better. In any case it's pretty.

 

I really dig that secret gardens album. This when the sky sleeps single is similar in sound imo

I hate that I didn’t attend the LA show. It was the week I moved and I didn’t feel like making a 60 mile round trip drive. Instant regret

 

New track from Andrew Prahlow, the composer behind the Outer Wilds OST.

This feels like a great progression from his work on Outer Wilds and I've actually mistaken it multiple times for a Mogwai track when it comes on on shuffle. It's not that it feels like a Mogwai rip-off, but it sounds so god damn good it could be Mogwai. There's a little sprinkle of Balmorhea in there too with the softer tones.

Looking forward to seeing what else he puts out.

Wow, you're right, this sounds a LOT like Mogwai. I'm not complaining.

 

City of the Lost - Eternal Recurrence

Proggy-ish, riffy, melodic, post-metaly. As much rock as it is post-rock, really. Post-rock rock? Post-post-rock? Something like that.

The Absolute End of the World - Somewhere Else

Bright, ambient, and ethereal; anyone who liked Secret Gardens should like this

 

this is really pretty for the most part, but with some definite post metal influence. similar to the last coastlands album probably

 

Listening to Look Into The Air by Explosions In The Sky. This song is so perfect to listen to right before the sun rises.

 

New Mogwai is fucking fantastic
