Hadn’t heard of Coldbones until today and I’m really feeling this new record. It’s got an almost cold feel to it that I also get from If These Trees Could Talk so you’re spot on with that comparison. Digging through their older stuff now and fuck Running Up That Hill is one hell of a song. Thanks for the recommendation!
Yeah the comparison to If These Trees Could Talk was spot on. The album reminded me of God Is An Astronaut at times too.
Between my mates, r/postrock and this thread I haven't seen a single person not fall in love with this Coldbones album. I definitely recommend checking out their first album Where It All Began when you've finished binging on The Cataclysm.
One of the guitar riffs/progressions at the end of Extinct on the new Coldbones album is really similar to Echo and Abyss by Caspian and it throws me off every time
Surprised to see them posted in here because they learn more toward the jazzier side of post-rock but this song is really fucking good. Album out next week!
I got this in my email today and the terrible band name convinced me to check it out but it’s actually really sick lol
this is probably a long shot, but I listened to this cassette today, and remembered I've never been able to find a downloadable version. any chance someone has the digital version of this they could share? (band is dope, btw, former members of Destroy the Runner, rad distorted vocals, great vibes) they have this and their first album archived but unlistenable on Spotify if anyone know how to hack in there, haha.
Streaming from Bandcamp right now and this is great. I don't have the digital version, but it's relatively easy to grab the source files from Bandcamp. They're only 128 mp3's but I guess better than nothing. If I get around to it, I'll share them with you.
@White hooked it up. I had them saved from when they were available, still show up in my saved albums on there. Just The Fucking Earth goes off.
Second album from Gazelle(s) out June 19th but two tracks are streaming now. You.May.Die.in.the.Desert recommended them and they've got good taste, very into this.
