a couple songs into their 2020 album and they sound like August burns red meets (early) sleeping with sirens. I like it
Their album from last year is fantastic. Over The Garden Wall was one of my favorite songs last year.
Curious to get into Like Moths To Flame then. I remember getting their demos on it-leaked back in the day and loving them, not sure if it's still out there
Oh yeah Wild that I can't find a stereo version of this, though myspace rips did always sound wonky Also remember Agraceful? It's the band LMTF's singer first joined after leaving Emarosa
after a few days of combing their discography, the two most recent like moths to flames albums blow their previous stuff out of the water. that early 2010s metalcore sound is just dated to me when I don’t have nostalgia to go along with it. But their two albums released this decade feel like a significant leap forward
I love LMTF, but their early stuff is very Risecore. Personally, for newcomers, I'd suggest 'Dark Divine' (their most melodic album) onwards and to only delve into stuff before that afterwards. They've been on a great streak since they signed to UNFD.
In an incredibly surprising turn of events, Her Words Kill have had one of their songs go viral on TikTok recently and their monthly Spotify listeners have shot up from around 3,000 to approximately 525,000 in just a few weeks. The band was only around for about 3 or 4 years and (to my knowledge) never broke out of the underground UK scene at the time, so it's very left-field. For those unaware, Her Words Kill is basically MySpace post-hardcore but on the more progressive side, with most of their songs clocking over 5-minutes in length. A few of the members went on to form/join Lower Than Atlantis. I'd recommend giving them a listen, a great little (now unearthed) gem from the 2000s UK scene.
That's wild, had no idea about the Lower Than Atlantis connection. Also cool if UK post-hardcore bands get brought to light again. Even the bigger names remain underrated in the grand scheme of things. Imagine Reuben having songs used for TikTok trends lol
Who the fuck remembers Nevea Tears?? Randomly thought of this band and luckily they're on Spotify. Their second album was good too
Also this band from the early 2000s that I remember downloading of IRC back in the day....don't think they had anything besides this, wish it was broken up in individual tracks but I'll take this. There really weren't many electronicore bands back in the day....sure there was Horse The Band but they were more a chiptunes based electronicore. Still good but different than Nevea Tears.
I did! Remember listening to them after getting into Enter Shikari and learning about Nintendocore/electronicore
