Feel kind of at a loss with how much everyone is praising the Invent Animate record, this is my first exposure to them but it never strays beyond just being a very solid metalcore release for me, but I can be pretty picky admittedly.
it gives me incredibly strong Eternal Blue vibes, which is ostensibly what the kids are into these days. I like that record a lot too but I like their self-titled more, in the same way I prefer Greyview to heavener (let us hear the riffs!)
Not sure I see the comparison to Eternal Blue outside of potentially the subject matter. This is very much Greyview expanded upon with more vocal hooks and variety, at least from my point of view.
Just put that album on. The first minute sounded great then the harsh vocals and breakdowns started. I dunno, it's hard for me to get into new-ish bands that are playing this style. The atmosphere, actual riffs, and clean vocals are cool. If they ever evolve out of the djenty breakdowns I could see really liking them.
Yo the new Gideon record claps. I don’t know whether to post in here or the hardcore thread about it lol
that kinda holds the album back for me too but I do think they're better at it than a lot of bands I've heard doing that style.
For everyone enjoying the new Invent Animate record, my podcast episodes/interview with vocalist Marcus Vik went live today. EP #49 - Marcus Vik (Invent Animate / ex-Aviana)
Saw someone on twitter say the new August Burns Red record was more akin to prog-death then the metalcore they are known for and I'm genuinely baffled where folks are getting that from. Am enjoying it so far tho!
FAO: Anyone looking forward to the new Bury Tomorrow album that comes out tomorrow, I had their vocalist Dani on my podcast which went live today. EP #50 - Dani Winter-Bates (Bury Tomorrow) Personally, I think it's their best album to date.
