Never liked this band (dude sounds like the Take Me to Church guy too often) but this song and its twist in the middle is the best thing I've heard from them. I'm intrigued if this is part of an album.
yeah, I was lukewarm on most of their stuff outside of the one heavy track (Hypnosis) on their last album. BUT this track had a bit of everything that I really love, and if they can keep that kind of attitude for a new release, I'm very intrigued as well.
If you make a radio station on Apple Music they are not that far removed from some really good metal and post hardcore acts. They just tend to stick to the more accessible side of things. A band they remind me a lot of is Tesseract or even Monuments.
Saw them open for Issues back in 2019. What a wild show, the lineup was Issues/Polyphia/Lil Aaron/Sleep Token
I've discovered this band named Modern Error a couple weeks back and had to share their work here. Their debut EP features a sound that toes the line between metalcore and post-hardcore, reminding me of bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Vanna, or Stories, etc. Nothing that hadn't been done before, but it's competently made and fully had my attention. However the follow up album, released last year, made me do a double take so many times throughout my listens. Right away, there's an huge increase in synths and a strong focus on atmosphere. While the post-hardcore influences, especially prominent in the first half, remain, the album suddenly takes a turn for more industrial and electronic stuff, not dissimilar to Nine Inch Nails and 30 Seconds To Mars. The second namedrop may be a turn off I know, but the singer oddly sounds like a cross between Buddy Nielsen and Jared Leto. This mix of sounds definitely intrigued me so I'm curious to see where they go from here.
Modern Error are great, saw them at Outbreak Festival last year and they're really good live too. It's just two of them now (I think?) who are brothers, and the vocalist Zak does a lot of music video work for other bands. Before Modern Error they used to be in a hardcore/metalcore band called In Archives - not sure if they had the same line-up as when Modern Error first came about though.
On the subject of ten56., I had their vocalist Aaron on my podcast. New EP drops tomorrow and it goes hard. EP #39 - Aaron Matts (ten56. / ex-Betraying The Martyrs)
