Really love the new more metalcore direction they're going for on this album and dabbled with on the last one, familiar enough with other bands in the scene at the moment with some subtle flourishes to make them stand apart. Hopefully gonna catch them live for the first time soon.
I couldn't find a thread for We Came As Romans but they finally released their first album following Kyle's passing. Sadly, this is so bland and stale. Not that they ever were the most original metalcore band before, but they sound like everyone else now. It's not only missing the vocal interplay they had with two vocalists, but also the electronic elements that made them stand out. The only times the latter pop up... they straight up sound bad. I also find Dave's tone quite unpleasant this time, which makes me wish they'd gotten someone else to do the cleans. Overall it's just one more album in that oversatured Linkin Park influenced/Sempiternal-core market.
It is, they put out two songs in 2019 but this is their first full length since Cold Like War in 2017. Kyle passed away in 2018.
Yeah it's been so long it's easy to forget. They've always been inconsistent but I thought they were onto something with Cold Like War, by finding the right balance between their heaviness and poppiness/electronic side. This... is just diet Architects.
To be fair, Foreign Hands are just bringing back that early 2000's era Trustkill sound. Not a bad thing, but far from original.
Late to the party, but enjoying the Bad Omens release from earlier in the year. It’s nothing groundbreaking, just well executed Octanecore
I’m guessing this would be the appropriate thread, Ken Susi is on “mutual hiatus” from Unearth & didn’t record any parts on their next album.
