blink is my all time favorite band, i never really heard the tom/mark sound but you could be onto something why i love TAA so much! but i agree, as far as metalcore goes, Ahren was one of the best and unique voices to ever do it, you could feel his passion and his warmth in every note he sang.

i don’t know much amity affliction but the only album i got into was misery and i felt like they wrote some really interesting songs on that album but the heavy vocals were ruining the vibes of most of them. it seems like they’ve kinda leaned into that and i despise the tone of the heavy vocals in general from them.

its funny in the interview i posted, Ahren mentioned everyone hated that album when it came out but then liked it two years later, hes like we got so much shit that the last 5 amity albums all sounded the same so we threw poppy elements into misery and everyone shitted on it when it came out, he's like no one could be pleased. i was actually listening to that album on the way to and from work and it holds up, i love all the synth stuff matt squire did on it, plus it holds up and they were doing something different that worked out for them imo. NOW tons of bands incorporate electronic elements into their songs.

I liked the new 156/silence a lot more live. Its decent on record but it went hard live.

These guys rule. Really nailed the mid 00s vibe. Sounds very Hidden In Plain View.

I've got my copy somewhere.....the vinyl used to be one of my white whales and I was super stoked when they started to reissue it a couple years back.

That’s a sweet find reissue or not!! Such a great EP after all this time , I wonder what a full length from these guys would’ve been like
