swap moths with erra and i can back that haha, cannot really get into moths sans the last album but absolutely love erra. hit or miss style for sure though polaris's last album is very sick and def my favorite lp of theirs. i feel like starting with the death of me theyve gradually worked in like an underoath/etid/norma jean kinda thing on some songs and it comes out amazingly on parasites. the whole back half is amazing too
Not sure I've heard Polaris yet, they're next on my list then! I tried Currents and Invent Animate but both didn't appeal to me. I saw Lvndmarks live considering Underoath were opening for them and they were def great performers, but their music still does nothing for me outside of a few songs. In that lane, it's tough not to feel like I've heard a thousand bands do the same stuff in the previous 10 to 15 years so it quickly ends up sounding stale to my ears.
Spent most of 2025 exploring metalcore acts I hadn't spent much time with yet and Like Moths To Flames are def among my favorites of those I checked alongside Erra, 156/Silence, Vatican and Boundaries. A shame Vatican broke up but at least they went out on a high note with this beast of an album. Highly recommended to fans of vein.fm, Johnny Booth, Code Orange...
Mike, the vocalist, joined Psycho Frame and formed Church Tongue with Nicko from Knocked Loose and remind me a lot of Misery Signals.
i am obsessed with 156, people watching was my most listened to album of 2025 and it wasn’t even close
nope, I haven't actually been to a show since probably 2018/2019, I can't remember. Also taking my wife who very much isn't a metalcore listener, so it'll be interesting to see how she handles vianova and 156 lmao
Anyone has recommendations for good post hardcore or easycore album intros? Stuff like Asking Alexandria - Alerion, Underneath The Gun - Deathcard, Sell Your Sky - Prelude, Abandoned By Bears - Homegrown
FFO: Lower Definition New episode of my podcast just dropped where I chat with Eddy and Tino about the new album... and if we'll ever get 'The Greatest Of All Lost Arts' on vinyl.
The first Dream On, Dreamer album has a great intro, but mostly for how it leads into the next track I think.
This channel may be interested in a Discore I’m in where we chat about music, etc. If you are looking for new music and people to chat with about it, it’s a great community. No pressure of course! https://discord.gg/discore-1016519791340687431
I think most of us argue that they've gotten better since then actually lol Although I still enjoy their earlier stuff too
imo not really they sound a lot better on their last two but maybe it’s not as big of a jump for people who actually were familiar with them pre-2020
