Never cared for the rest of their discography but I Lucifer is one of my favorite metalcore albums ever. I can't think of anything else in the genre that shies away from harsh vocals and have that work so well too?
yeah thats really the only thing ive dug lol but im glad that lineup at least got that album in. unbelievable vocal writing all through that gels so perfectly w the riffing. i also j get so nostalgic hearing brian mcternan production
I, Lucifer should’ve been a classic. I understood the hate and some of it had to grow on me too but it’s absolutely one of the best clean vocal performances our scene has produced imo. Some of those choruses and bridges are gorgeous.
Welp Dillinger escape plan brought Keith Buckley out for the last few songs of their set last night on the start of Blissmas weekend. We have entered a new level of petty. I think I could have been there and still not thought this was cool.
Idk, if I had the chance to witness this live, I would be on the moon and all the ETID/Better Lovers and TDEP/Greg Puciato drama would be the furthest thing from my mind. Plus it's not his first time performing with them. Pretty sure he joined them for a NIN cover when Greg was still the lead. He's probably friends with the rest of the band. edit: Back in 2009
Sounds sick, makes me wish he was a part of a heavier/more chaotic band because Many Eyes doesn't do much for me
The thing I realized about all the ETID spinoffs (minus Atomic Rule which only has three songs out) is that they’re all missing something that made ETID great. Better Lovers is missing Andy’s riffs and Keith’s delivery and lyricism. Many Eyes is missing Jordan’s flashiness but feels like a pastiche of ETID. And the thing is, Keith can make good music without the rest of ETID going off of The Damned Things but instead he just decided to “play the hits” with Many Eyes.
yeah, might be my first concert in years though driving into Houston on a Friday afternoon sounds brutal lmao
on an absolutely massive greeley kick and am very thankful for this thread for making me aware of them to begin with, particularly the run from go west through death of greeley estates. phenomenal stretch of records
Good Tiger announced a new album out February 20th, first single coming out Friday. Mixed and mastered by Nolly with Matt Halpern from Periphery on drums. Hope it’s good but doubt it’ll scratch my itch for more The Safety Fire.
Such a Kind Stranger came up on a mix for me the other day. Such a great song. Excited to hear the new track, thanks for the heads up.
checking out polaris for the first time, their last album is fucking amazing. i’m pretty split on this style of metalcore, i love bands like silent planet, like moths to flames, and now polaris but im rather lukewarm on currents (mostly, some of it rips), erra, invent animate, etc. also i checked out a few lvndmarks songs and did not fuck with that at all. i feel like the tough guy nu metal rapping doesn’t really work for them at all
