Parts of it reminded me of Videodrome, and eXistenZe. Though I feel bad for making those comparisons just because he’s his son.
This was very tight. Cinematography was beautiful and general direction was great, loved the minimal dialogue Hearing Shigeto’s “Detroit Part II” in the background about 5 minutes in when I’ve coincidentally been listening to that song all week was kinda spooky heh
I am finally finishing a lot of 2020 films I never got to. It is interesting that he had no real interest in exploring the morality of the business itself, and it ultimately is a tale about how our career-minded world alienates us from what should matter.
