Swap ITM (a record I do enjoy for sure) with Satanic Satanist and you’re right on the money IMO. Anyways, I don’t expect them to drop their more commercial sound sadly so my expectations for the new record are pretty low.
I’m trying not to sound bitter but this was super underwhelming. How is this the band that used to release amazing records year after year after year???!
Oh yeah, agreed. I group all their output from like 2009 to 2013 as one era, and they were truly at their best straddling the line between psyche rock and pop in that time period.
It's hilariously on brand to release a 1 minute live take of an old song outta nowhere. That being said it's a pretty amazing minute of music, haha. I really love it and just wish it was.... more
Yes yes yes I loved the experimentation on Evil Friends too and would probably rank that as their best record? Also, it’s worth highlighting Church Mouth too! Honestly 2007-2013 is where it’s at.
Evil Friends > The Satanic Satanist > Church Mouth > In The Mountains > Waiter > Woodstock > Censored Colors > American Ghetto IMO (I know CC is ranked low but I just can’t get into it like some of y’all)
Oh damn. Evil Friends>in the mountains>satanic satanist>American ghetto > church mouth > waiter>censored colors> Woodstock. is that all of them? I really don’t dislike anything they’ve ever made, just feel like they’re missing out if they chase another megahit like feel it still
I feel pretty much the same. I don’t think Woodstock is trash as I do enjoy tracks like Easy Tiger, Live in the Moment, Keep On, and Tidal Wave quite a bit.. but I do think they’re not tapping into their potential as songwriters these days :(
They reposted Instagram stories about a new album and a new EP, neither of which are announced. So we'll see...
I just heard a song I like in a Taco Bell commercial and I googled it only to find out it’s an unreleased PTM song?!? What on earth is this rollout
