Oh I plan on it, especially with Spotify. I'm making a premature prediction but I think "Woodstock" is gonna be my Summertime album of the year

Yup, she was the pharmacist in the DENNIS system episode. Not sure if that's where they met or if it was prior to filming that.

Didn't recognize her at all. The pharmacist was brunette no?

I feel bad for Fleet Foxes. I've been spending all my time with this. Need a nice rainy night to relax and unwind with FF and just haven't had that or the right mindset to digest their new album (glorious in its own right!)

This was fine, surprised it ended where it did

Don't want to listen again right away but I'm not mad at it

I really dig the album but that's no surprise. I think Mr. Lonely is absolutely incredible. They've got such jams on this album.

Probably my biggest complaint is it feels really short. Especially with all the singles they've released over the last 3+ months.

I would like a few more adventurous tracks but keep finding myself humming along to the poppies tracks.

so, when this first came out I felt a bit thrown off by the overall vibe of the record, it's definitely very modern pop, which for some reason surprised me even though some of their past stuff (satanic satanist) was straight up pop-rock. i think its the experimenting with production, and the lack of focus on guitars, that at first i didn't like, but suddenly it clicked with me and i'm really enjoying the album now. P.TM will never write the same album and that is something i respect a lot, so i'm glad to give this a chance even though it's not what i thought i wanted. my only true complaint is, it's missing a really good closing song. not that i don't love noise pollution, but just one more song along the vein of "smile" or "sleep forever" would have perfected the album.

I've been coming around to this more with every listen. Still have complaints and an overall disappointment, but I definitely enjoy it. The lyrics don't necessarily feel like P.TM. The line about crashing from champagne and adderall just doesn't feel right. Tidal Wave and Easy Tiger are my favorites for sure. Still wish this was longer.

    Curious why you think this.

It fits the "story" and perspective of "Rich Friends" perfectly in its mimicry.

Not trying to pick a fight or pile on, but I love those lyrics. They may be my favorite on this record actually.

I get what you're saying about them feeling like P.TM. immediately, but the more comfortable you get with the album and the "space" it occupies, the more sense it makes...at least to me.

Tidal Wave & Easy Tiger are definitely stand outs for me too.

Funny because Easy Tiger was absolute rubbish to my ears upon first listen. It was way too chaotic initially.

I felt the same way on first listen, but then by the weekend I couldn't get it out of my head.

  16. I still think this is a middle of the road PTM album. When I listen to it it's enjoyable but it doesn't bring me in, I don't get immersed into it.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

This is the first PTM album that really caught my ear. I've been through their discography twice to see if I was missing anything, but Woodstock got me.

Maybe it's because I finally saw them live? I'll give their discography one more go.

Sounds like you may be in the same boat as me. Each album has had at least a song or two that I like, but Woodstock, Evil Friends and Church Mouth are the only ones that I dig most of the full album.

I just need this to be better than ITMITC and American Ghetto.

Have you not listened to it yet? It's definitely better than American Ghetto.

One thing you can't deny about this band is they sure as hell know how to make a catchy pop song.

Everyone has a different idea of what this band should be. It makes me respect the hell out of them that they strive to constantly evolve and change with every album. Also, I love that John is a meme now.

Good point on everyone having a different expectation. Speaks to how much they push themselves to evolve.

Also agree on the meme. Dude is exceptionally nice and hilarious.

Halfway through and got interrupted. Love the chill direction and the weirdness. Does seem a little shallow though, and what happened to the double album?

Well it all started when John found his Dad's Woodstock ticket. Hell, just read the bio on their site. Hah.

I think if you like this you'll find things to like about Evil Friends and The Satanic Satanist at least. EF definitely has some elements of this sound, and I think SS is pretty "poppy" though in a different way than this is.
