sounds like Wicked Games lead guitar in the verses and Nirvana guitar in the chorus, song isn't very good
Big Baby Bogota is a song that was from the scrapped Gloomin and Doomin album before Woodstock, so PTM fans can rejoice that it has finally seen the light of day!
I never dug deep, but how much is actually known about what would have been on that album, is there a track list of any kind
I’d have to go back through the subreddit to see if any of it was archived, but around the time after Evil Friends, they did post a series of Instagram stories and there was definitely at one point a whiteboard listing of recorded tracks. I do not believe it ever got to a full track-order phase, but a lot of songs were fully recorded during that period and have just never been released. I recall John saying that he viewed many of them unfinished or unfit for release and that ideas from those songs may eventually become other songs in the future. I hope that one day they will release a b-sides album just to hear what was developed during that time after Evil Friends, because I am sure there were a lot of good ideas even if they decided to scrap them in the end.
This was from 2015. A lot of the songs made it onto Woodstock, but Big Baby Bogota has eluded us for a decade!
I feel like they tried so long to be cool that they forgot how to be weird so I'm glad to see a little more weirdness creeping back into the tunes.
Saw on Reddit that at least two of these were teased 6+ years ago with since snippets on Instagram or something
If anyone wants to dig in, they are on Nugs now and have 9 live shows uploaded so far Portugal. The Man - Stream Live and Download Concerts
Apparently this girl I went to high school with plays bass for them now? Absolutely wild, I used to jam Portugal the Man songs with her
