Oh and an update on Cheerleader, I blasted it on my drive home and it's fully clicked for me now. One of the most pure fun songs to drop so far this year. Seeing that live would be so good, I'm just imagining confetti popping off during one of the choruses haha
Getting anxious about tomorrow just because I really want to be as close as possible. Good luck to everyone that’s grabbing tickets tomorrow!
Experience was way more annoying than it needed to be with only 100 something people in front of me in the queue because Ticketmaster just decided to never refresh when it was my turn. So I had to restart the whole process on my iPad. But I ended up with pretty great seats, so I’m stoked!
Had the same problem. I was first in the queue for almost ten minutes. I got a solid spot for the amount that I was willing to spend so no issues there. That said, has anyone been to the Mann in Philly before? Would love to get a vibe check so I know what to expect.
That’s where I’m going actually! Lol But the pavilion and skyline at the Mann are both great venues. Pavilion is obviously better though. But yeah I’ve been there several times, with the most recent being the boygenius show last year, and I’ve never had a bad time
Presale is in 10 minutes and I still haven’t got a code that I signed up for if anyone wants to help me out :)
Couldn’t get tickets to San Diego :( hopefully I have better luck with the general sale but I doubt it
I listened to Spitfire again and it is very much not for me. Waaaay tooo much cheesy wub wub dub dub pew pew pew cheesiness that I can't get past. The title track and 100% In this Bitch being main offenders, and honesly, I'm sorry but "The State" is laughably bad with the spoken word government dialogue going throughout, just painful
tbf, it's also a product of the time and he was at the forefront (with some other big names) of that massive spike in electronic music popularity around 2008-2010. he was actually doing some really interesting stuff, but definitely get it's not for everyone.
such an odd little span of time. I was never into that sound but my younger brother was and it baffled me then. funnily enough now I listen to more electronic music than he does but I still can't fuck with dubstep. i'll give spitfire a fair listen tomorrow though and see if it does anything for me
Wavedash has blessed us. I can’t stop listening to Stutter right now I haven’t seen him do a DJ set in a long ass time, but Porter said he used Into You as the opener to his DJ set for awhile
That's fascinating, I actually really dig it because it's NOT like the general dubstep EDM that was booming around that time! Not that I don't enjoy that stuff too every so often honestly, but Spitfire feels like a more interesting take on that scene. I agree The State threatens to veer into cringe territory with the libertarian nonsense but still remains fun overall. The biggest offenders for it sounding like the geneal dubstep EDM are some of the remix songs I feel, which is why in my post earlier I said I wasn't super feeling all of the remixes lol
