I think I've continued to be firmly in the Worlds camp, and this further cements it. I remember I had just started dating my wife when it hit and she probably was probably annoyed with how much I made her listen to the album while we were driving.
Porter tweeted that he can't remember where he had this track slotted on the album but right now he'd put it after Fresh Static Snow and I think that's perfect.
Finally put this record on in the living room with my soundbar and subwoofer. Un-fucking-real. Easier to love you in particular. That second chorus, the sub bass is so solid. Pair that with his lead vocals blended with the vocal manipulation we know him for... what a track. This really might end up being my favorite of the year. He did it again. p.s. i may be stoned. maybe just a little.
Looks like a lot of the album on streaming got updated mixes/mastering, the files are different as of today. I am sure someone on reddit has figured out what changed
After repeated listens, this is sitting at a solid 9/10. Nurture is an album I'd unironically consider a 10/10 and this comes close, but I still give the slight edge to Nurture for coming out at a time where I absolutely needed it.
These singles only got better in context of the album. Even the sequencing of Russian Roulette has grown on me a ton.
I still feel like it’s a closer lol but I can also understand why Everything to Me is… It’s actually my one main gripe about the album… I love Russian Roulette but it just feels out of place where it is. You could probably even just tack it on the end and it could work, idk.
Still trying to connect with this one but main barrier is the lyrical content. Just can’t relate to a lot of it. That’s not to say it’s bad though. The instrumentation is still great and the songs are good.
