  1. I feel like this has been pretty heavily advertised but maybe I've just been seeking it out

This is expected to bomb pretty hard at the box office, unfortunately. I hope it exceeds expectations.

  3. I know RT doesn't mean anything, but it currently has an 84%

Yea, I'm not getting my hopes up. MacGruber and Hot Rod also both opened during the summer and bombed. It probably would perform better in the spring time. And like both hopefully it has second life on video/cable.

Man, I've disliked all of the trailers. I want to love it so bad, but I'm at the point where I can't justify paying to see it.

Their music has pretty big success doesn't it? I wonder why they can't see the same amount of success in movies. I'm always rooting for them for some reason, I'll go see this on Saturday.

YouTube / iTunes generation aren't always interested in watching a movie

True. I guess their music videos and shorts are only 3-4 minutes, perfect for those with no fuckin attention span lol

Yeah, between this and Keanu, it seems like YouTube success doesn't translate to movie success at all

Andy Samberg is a solid sketch comedian and decent actor, but I don't think that's ever translated to big money/ratings on the big or little screen, even though he usually chooses good stuff.

I'm really not sure why they didn't choose this to be a spring release, rather than putting it in the summer.

It's probably b/c there are barely any comedies being released this summer, especially irreverent shit like this.

    Sweet, already a cult hit!

  17. What's the budget tho

$21 million but a movie isn't deemed a success by the studio unless it does double its budget at the BO

5 mil seems too low to me, I think it will do better than that

What point of the movie does that occur?

JT's cameo is absolutely hysterical. Just got back from seeing this, was absolutely hysterical. Will Arnett and CMJ was the best part of the whole movie, though.

Loved it. The bit with the bees had me rolling. Can't wait to listen to the soundtrack.

  25. The promotion for this has been pretty well-done.
