Hot Rod is the weirder of the two films and I appreciate that so much. But Popstar is WAY more up my alley as far as making fun of the music industry and overall douchiness.

Bottom line: watch both. You can't go wrong.

i def think Hot Rod is the funnier movie by it’s very close

 

I feel like with Hotrod there is something random and funny happening in like every single scene. It's so hard to even pick 10 favorite moments.

 

I feel left out because I've only seen both this and Hot Rod once

 

Popstar is on HBO GO, if you have that.

I like Hot Rod a lot better than this, but MacGruber is the clear winner of the Lonely Island affiliated films

 

I used to feel that way too, but I think Popstar is my top while Hot Rod and MacGruber wrestle back and forth

 

still haven’t seen MacGruber

 

I've only seen Hot Rod once and I don't even laugh at physical comedy that much but him rolling down that hill for forever really got me. Need to rewatch both!

 

Jesus Christ, I think I can safely say Popstar is one of my favorite comidies of all time.

They're so different! They're riffing on different things! They're both the best! I have much more history with Hot Rod and it was influential in my sense of humor and who I am as a person but also I think I've watched popstar more than anyone else who didnt like work on the film so idk!!!

"Hot Rod" is one of my favorite comedies of all time. I like "Popstar" alright, but the only scenes that hit "Hot Rod"'s highs are the bee scene, "Equal Rights" and the Seal one. I'm one of the few that didn't really care for "Macgruber," minus the "get the group together" montage.

 

Macgrubie don't play like homie, and homie don't play like that.
