if you didn't like "so mean," i don't understand at all but you might have a tough time getting through? album is sooo goddamn likable though
poppy's drummer is the real deal between this and the deafheaven it's been a great year for metal drummers slumming it on alt-rock records
Digging this a lot. Lessen the Damage sounds like Turnstile. @irthesteve On the Level immediately made me think of
Yeah, this is so good. Love this sound, or rather all of these sounds, for her. Very diverse album but also very cohesive. The power-pop and punk stuff is quite enjoyable but it also goes far beyond that. Standouts on first listen are definitely Lessen, Level, Hysteria, and Never, but that's not to slight any of the other songs.
I love love I Disagree (I think I had it as my number 2 album of the year) but I very well could end up liking this more tbh. It def has a shot
This is really great, love the 90's alt rock sound all over this. But yes, the vocals are completely drowned out most of the time and it's a real shame.
This just feels like her old stuff without the weirdo shit. Better song writing. Overall, pretty forgettable tho.
damn, don't think I can make this work. I'd have to go out there today just to buy a CD, probably will be sold out by then anyway
This is...nice? Some songs really hit and others feel like kind of a slog. I appreciate it doing something different, even if not all of it is landing for me right now. Still think the vocal mix sounds weird on some of these tracks, the first two in particular (even though "Lessen the Damage" rules)
Just saw her first show back and it was so fun. Pretty perfect setlist too. Played most of the new album, few songs from Eat, few songs from I Disagree, X, Scary Mask and Fear of Dying
