Poppy was my third most played artist this year, Negative Spaces my third most played album, and “the center’s falling out” my #1 song. This new album dropping in January means she has plenty of time to dominate in 2026, too.
the song itself is alright, but her vocals on this one (particularly in the chorus) are some of her best. would really like her to throw us a curveball single though because these first three have felt a tad conventional.
Ripper. Would love to have something with a bit more pep. I think the pulse of “Crystalized” or “Push Go” suit her so well, and I hope to hear more of that tempo.
Track list is officially out 01 Public Domain 02 Bruised Sky 03 Guardian 04 Constantly Nowhere 05 Unravel 06 Dying To Forget 07 Time Will Tell 08 Eat The Hate 09 The Wait 10 If We're Following The Light 11 Blink 12 Ribs 13 Empty Hands
I like it but all three singles are very similar to each others. Hope she also leans into the grungier and dancier rock stuff that she explored on the last album.
I caught up with her about the album - there are definitely curveballs - and her Australian tour this week! The Defiant Power Of Poppy: 'Curiosity Keeps Pulling Me In New Directions' | The Music
I cannot describe how well this is written AND how fucking excited this review makes me for next week. It sounds like a proper ripper AND something that will surprise us.

listening now and holy shit Dying to Forget is so sick. Also Unravel is one of my favourite songs of hers at this point, it gets better every time I hear it.
Just finished and my initial thoughts are: Public domain is very experimental/industrial. also lots of experimental elements are present throughout the entire album. Dying to forget and empty hands are heavy as fuck. theres some major death metal vibes on empty hands. Eat the hate is the “punk” song on the album. Wouldn’t call it ng 2 but there are some comparisons. Constantly nowhere and blink are interludes. The breakdown-end of song on if we’re following the light is sick.
I think it keeps the core of what I loved so much on Negative Spaces while still bringing in enough new sounds to keep it interesting and fresh. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.
This album is definitely good, but is it hitting the way her other albums have? Not quite... maybe it's because the album is kinda more of the same, or maybe the songs aren't as strong, but first listen takeaway is that the album is technically good but will need more listens to see if I can connect with it more
yeah, a lot of this just feels like Negative Spaces, Pt. II. i enjoyed a good chunk of it, but it just feels a tad derivative of Jordan Fish's other production work. Public Domain, Dying to Forget, Ribs, and the title track are all great though.
