WTF, the first thing that came up when I googled that band was that the lead singer was charged with murder...just a heads up?

 

Just saw that myself...might be tip-toeing around this. Shiiiiiit.

 

Randomly had Montrose come up on a Daily Mix today.

Oddly miss Man Overboard. Not the best band but they were fun and solid and they soundtracked a fun part of my life.

 

I saw them live once and they were unsurprisingly average

Also saw Real Friends when I was hungover like 2 years ago that was painful

 

I've seen Real Friends be great live, and also average other times.

 

Me and my friend were both coming off of ridiculous hangovers and we could barely eat. (strike one) Also didn't help that the opening bands were absolute pish. (strike two) We both just found a place to sit down and left halfway through bc they were playing majority of the new stuff which we weren't fans of (strike three)

 

I saw Real Friends do half a song when they opened for All Time Low because the lines were so long to get into the venue. Those 2 minutes seemed fine, haha.

 

I saw their second ever UK show in 2012, as main support for The Wonder Years in Manchester alongside Neck Deep and Handguns, and they were fantastic. Also played well at Slam Dunk a few years back.

They did put on a pretty average show at Slam Dunk 2016 but tbf Dan's voice was absolutely shot and he apologised.

 

Last time I saw Real Friends was when they were direct support for The Wonder Years on that fall US tour they did in 2016. They were pretty good. I've had fun both times I've seen them.

 

It's weird how I used to listen to pop punk every day but I've calmed down from that so much in just a few years

Severely underrated band they are. Same with Fireworks. They just never had that one song that caught on as much as other bands

 

Maybe it's not that bad of a thing they never caught on considering they're still tight with JJR last I heard.

 

Yesterday, Google Play Music's recommended new releases said I should check out Capstan's latest album. Never heard of them before, but I really like what I've heard. I'm surprised there isn't a thread for them.

 

I just got listened to them for my first time too, but through spotify. They're pretty cool and have some cool riffs!

 

One of the volunteers where I work is the father of the bassist lol.

You may have already heard it, but Grayscale's record from last year was really good! One of the only records from the genre I enjoyed all year.

 

Grayscale was pretty meh overall imo but fever dreams is a fantastic song

 

Well we can certainly agree on fever dream being the best song!

 

Ha, that's one of my least favorites on the Grayscale album.
