I saw Light Years near enough on my own in Sheffield once. I think the crowd was just made up of other bands who would have supported had they not been late. Never really listened to them though apart from the EP I bought that night. Can't remember who the other band that played were.
Went to a Belmont / Capstan show three nights ago. So much fun. Check both these bands out. Belmont could be described as easycore, Capstan are more pop-punk/emo/post-hardcore.
Japanese pop punk band Before Me release new 7 track EP - Unite Asia I don't understand a word but it sound pretty good
A lot of the songs blend together for me and I’m having trouble finding distinct songs I really like.
I think that now this music is the only direction of rock music that can dislodge rap from youth players. And I'm not against rap, I'm just for. Just an analysis of competition)
It's not even remotely close. Pop punk is a healthy niche with the occasional success story. Hip Hop is basically synonymous with youth culture at this point.
Yeah, it'll be something new that dislodges hip hop in a few years. Hip hop is the mainstream youth culture choice, pop punk and the like is more an underground choice and that's fine.
I don't see hip hop going anywhere for a long time, it's so deeply entrenched, often in ways that aren't even obvious for people that don't know what to look for
The 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums well...... the list goes rvivr into 5sos into joyce manor into good charlotte what a list
This You Vandal record, though. Blows everything else I’ve heard in this genre in 2017 out of the water.
That album is absolute gold. My favourite release of the new UK Pop Punk bands (Check the last Boston Manor album too). I believe they are working on a new album for next year.
oh yeah! My friend sent me a link for one of their songs off that and I was into it but never checked out the rest of the album, so thanks for the reminder haha. great news too on the new album.
