I cannot stand Tate McRae and how she sings in cursive. I hear her new sing all the time and it drives me crazy
I've very much on the edge about her, mostly because of her vocals being SO extremely nasal and generic-pop-girl, there's been whole articles about the pop voice that she sings with... but anyway, her current single "she's all i wanna be" does rock, but I can imagine if anyone else sang it I would love it more
I think I would like it more if it was someone else singing and if the production gave it at least some kind of punch. It just kind of exists, which is what I think of pretty much everything she does. And nothing makes me feel more ancient than this current crop of pop singers that are doing basically "Billie Eilish, but more Top 40 friendly", amping up the baby voice and/or singing in cursive (GAYLE, Dove Cameron, Lauren Spencer-Smith) and it drives me nuts.
Dove Cameron was on Disney Channel and Gayle has that abcdefu song that was viral on TikTok, that is all I know about either haha
