Did you watch BoyBand? I got so much secondhand embarrassment from that show but I couldn't stop watching.

 

I wanted to but I was out of town when it premiered and never caught up! And honestly as soon as I saw the winners In Real Life (the name, not me seeing them irl lol) I'm sry but they just don't work for me. They all look uniform. They have the same exact haircut and clothing. Boy band members need to have distinct looks and personalities so ppl can stan them and gain a fanbase. How can u pick a fave when they're all the same??

it def feels like the boy band/girl group era is over or should be over, like Fifth Harmony never seems to quite get to the next level of popularity and Little Mix are also in a weird spot and they're extremely vocally talented and cute even though they have some weird fashion sometimes

 

I feel bad cause girl groups seem to have a harder time in general. They have their stans, sure, but ppl are much more forgiving of the boys and will Stan any dry piece of toast that is male.

 

I see the Despacito remix has inspired a trend lol...

I meeeean tbh like every big single has a Spanglish/remix version tbh. It gets confusing af cause there will be like 5 versions of the same song. A regular version, a Spanglish version, an English version, versions with different features that cater to different demos, etc etc. Latin music artists collabing with mainsteam US artists is just a thing. Maluma w/ Fifth Harmony, Prince Royce with Snoop, Romeo Santos with Drake and Usher, etc etc etc all before Despacito... come to my Latin Music Thread for more!!!

 

Fair point!! I had heard of a couple of those.

 

I actually really dig this song, honestly connecting with the lyrics a surprising amount lol. It’s simple but effective.

 

Started hearing that song on the radio the other day, I enjoy it. Video's neat too.

 

Wasn't expecting a CHVRCHES/1975 vibe from Aly & AJ, but this song is pretty nice.

 

Their music has always been underrated tbh

Also I just wanna say that perrie Edwards has one of the best voices in pop and while I don't check for LM much I'm always blown away when she gets a solo and the sheer power of her voice like melts my face off

 

Everyone in Little Mix can sing so well, they're like the perfect girl group in terms of look and sound
