Pom Poko - Cheater (January 15, 2021)

This came out a couple weeks ago but it’s pretty good and folks here would probably dig it!

 

Fuck yeahhhhh don’t know Penelope isles but obviously making a point to see Pom Poko. Both their records have become faves of mine this year

 

I wish I could go but I’m seeing Billie Eilish the same day sadly!

 

Their new EP is understated (relatively) and very cool…

 

People may be tempted to call this band Deerhoof worship but I really think they’re doing some of the most exciting things rhythmically and melodically in rock music at the moment. The guitar tones this band gets fucking astounds me, even more so when I remember there’s only one fucking guitar player lol

would kill to play with this group tbh. We attempted to route our European tour around Oslo solely to try and do so but it’s just too far away from everything else and I bet they’re too big now
