That was so good. I still can't pinpoint what exactly it is, but these new songs seem like such a level up from NLND, almost like that one was a transition point to reach this style.
Album out tomorrow. I'm driving back to my work office for the first time in a couple years because I'm leaving for a new job and need to return my equipment/eat lunch with my coworkers one last time, so I'll have plenty of time to take this one in on the way.
I listened to the first song but saving the rest for tomorrow when it’s official. Excited for this and I got the guitar tab pack too so I’ll be busy for a bit!
3 songs in and it’s such a breath of fresh air. Each track seems to have an actual identity. NLND was so same note to me, and this one doesn’t seem to be the case so far. Bummer the instrumentals aren’t on streaming (yet), I was excited to hear ABC instrumental.
Yeah this rules. I had a little too high of hopes for the Chino track, but it’s still pretty good. The $not feature is the worst, I’m definitely interested in the instrumental for that. All the other features range from “fine” to “pretty cool” and probably does a good job differentiating everything. Overall a very positive first listen.
Oh man, I love the Chino feature, easily one of my favorite tracks on here. Overall this is really cool.
wild we don't have an album thread for this. that Chino song is incredible imo, I forgot he was on here.
This has dominated my plays since Friday. Some really great layers here and I appreciate the vocal tracks more than I did initially. Top tier guitar work
the vocal features can be a bit much here (i love Chinos' though), but what a great album, they really stepped it up with the songwriting. i also really love the abundance of 7/8 string guitars and the thumping technique. those last 3 songs are killer and heavier than expected!
$not’s are really the only ones that bother me at this point, I’ve even come around on ABC too, that song is way too catchy. Love this album, and Ego Death is probably my SOTY at this point.
