Okay it has either been too long since I spun my CBGP vinyl or I have never spun side B.... because there's a track on here after 3/4 Tango that I'm pretty sure I've never heard before
Oh man, I think that's the third one from the EP that preceded the album right? Killer song! Forgot about it. E: Close Knit!! Man, the ending is huge.
Close Knit originally was The View, The Life 7" that preceded the album, but for some reason it got tacked on at the end of the vinyl too. I never heard a reasoning behind that, haha. It's a great song.
Bottled Wind is their best song this is of course to say nothing of Pawner, a song so great that it has transcended songness and therefore cannot feasibly be their best song
I want to unapologetically state that I still think Death Chorus is a really good album and that Jimmy’s voice has a very unique tone and that it fits very well.
Blood Balloon and Upstate Mosquito are two of my favorite PBC songs, regardless of album. I agree that Death Chorus is very underrated. And if there was some PBC reunion show that would be the one band that would actually force me to fly across the country to go see.
Death Chorus has a few good songs but it's a terrible album in comparison to CBGP. CBGP is one of my all-time favorite albums and I still come back to it at least once every month or two.
Death Chorus is just such a jarring change from their past work - it's not a bad album, it's just not a band I would've cared to listen to Play even a solid song like "Upstate Mosquito" next to a track like "See The Wind" and its not even the same band or genre of music
Blood Balloon is my favorite, WLWYCD is good and Upstate Mosquito is fine I'd rather listen to anything else in the world than Souxie Jean
I’ve decided that I will travel across the country to see them play STJD. Your move, Polar Bear Club.
