Glad this thread popped up to remind me to listen to them for the first time in forever. The Redder, The Better was so special when it came out. Might be one of my top EPs to this day. My interest fizzled on them a little more with every release, but I'll always love them for how much I listened to that EP from like 06-08.
I can't rank these records. I can only sort them by season. Sometimes Things Just Disappear - Late Spring/Summer (May - Mid August) Chasing Hamburg - Late Summer/Early Fall (Mid August - October) Clash Battle Guilt Pride - Late Fall/Early Winter (November - December) Death Chorus - Deep Winter/Early Spring (January - March) The Redder, The Better - The second half of April
Their most underrated jam is Take Me To The Town I listen to Chasing Hamburg just for that 4 song opening run
This band reminds me of simpler times. Glad I got to see them two or three times. See the Wind is the best PBC opener in my mind. Don’t blame them for trying the clean vocals (not that they really had a choice) but the last record is okay. Not good, not bad just “mid” as the kids say.
Okay but like Upstate Mosquito is probably one of my most played PBC songs. Definitely up there with the greats.
It's been years since I listened to Chasing Hamburg and holy shit how did I forget Living Saints existed... BANGER
See The Wind was the first song I heard from them, I was sleeping with my iPod and it woke me up from a dream it was so good I was like what is this amazing shit at 3:46 AM
I want a chasing hamburg remaster so bad, songs are incredible but the mix is a little tinny and harsh sometimes
Points for "Boxes" being a Tom Delonge diss track, also points for being very nice guys when I met them
Chasing Hamburg is probably their best album. Hands down. I have so much nostalgia with CBGP & STJD, but wowza does See The Wind knock my socks off.
From what I remember from an old Alt Press interview, the song was about Jimmy's friend arranging for him to meet Tom DeLonge after a Blink show and Tom was an asshole, wouldn't give him the time of day and said something to the effect of "I thought I said no kids!"
Clash Battle Guilt Pride is simply a masterpiece. The melodies are absolutely incredible in a way their other stuff doesn't have (even though their whole discography is great). I'm talking about the bridge in "Screams in Caves," all of "My Best Day," I could go on and on. Beneath the gritty vocals, it's really pop genius. One of the best pop-punk albums ever made. Maybe top 5 ever for me.
