Good God Sun and Moon will have a lot of Pokemon. I'm so excited. Also, there are a crap ton of Dragons. I'm usually a player who cares more about building a small team and powering it up as much as possible. However, with the plethora of options and available Pokemon I might focus on catching as many as possible before I take on too many bosses.
Seriously. They could done a totally BA woodpecker final form... and they went with a toucan. Makes no sense.
Re Pikipek, in fairness, they had a sparrow evolve into an eagle in gen 1. I think woodpeckers and toucans are more closely related than sparrows and eagles.
There are soooo many fun origin facts and theories. I spend too much time on bulbapedia reading that shit.
lol same. Hey did you guys know that Articuno's Japanese name is Freezer, which comes from the English word "freezer"? Thanks, Bulbapedia!
pidgey and pidgeot are super generic birds that look alike. the entire evolutionary line is pretty easy to process from a pokemon standpoint. the design of pikipek's line does not do a great job getting you from a to b. even after seeing the middle evolution you'd probably be more inclined to think the toucan was part of some other line or standalone, which was the reaction most people had. i also just think a toucan is too small to be a convincing second stage starter bird.
I agree. This isn't new though. There are plenty of Pokémon that doesn't seem to go from a to b. Clamperl (a clam/oyster) goes to Huntail (an eel). But my issue is that it's a main bird line. Which feels like it should have more cohesion.
