this makes no sense to me.

 

ice/steel Sandshrew and sandslash are still my top 2 but this is a close third for sure.

 

They should've done either no full Alolan form evolution lines, or all of them.

 

Yeah, I'm confused as to why they wouldn't have Cubone and Pikachu with Alolan forms. Maybe we get surfing Pikachu!

 

I can understand no Pikachu. Raichu has a tail more suitable for surfing which Pikachu doesn't have and Raichu is tanner because of all the surfing in the sun. Though it does skip over the surfing Pikachu stuff from gen 1.

 

I wish I could like my own post, because that one is gnarly.

 

It just makes no sense since these Pokemon are supposed to have changed based on where they're from but for some reason Pikachu and Cubone are still the same? and then they just change when they evolve.. Makes no sense. Seems lazy.

 

Can't forget about Exeggcute

 

Exeggcute I can understand. There isn't much reason to change that one.

 

The only one that bugs me is cubone, since it goes from being ground to being ghost/fire, which seems like it would be a very awkward transition.

 

Movesets are going to be weird too. Like, if you get Cubone's last move, you can have a Marowak with all ground moves. lol.

 

Alolan Raichu's eyes weird me out a little, but the design is still cool.

 

I'm just glad Raichu is back in relevancy and I will use it often

 

I guess I might finally evolve my Pikachu if I catch one this game. Very salty about not getting a cool new fairy Pikachu though.

 

At least we'll always have Dedenne. And I'll always have his shiny.

 

raichu shouldve gotten levitate, there wouldve been some rational imperative behind that

 

Levitate would be a lot better than the ability it has.

 

Between this and Tapu Koko, maybe they're trying to give people an incentive to use terrain moves since nobody did in Gen 6...

 

Raichu's speed is already great though. And I can't see much reason to use multiple electric types.

 

Aren't the new forms getting redistributed stats though? Maybe they lowered the speed to increase other stats.

 

Hopefully defense and sp defense

 

Is there any chance Levitate might be Alolan Raichu's hidden ability?

 

I just hope they've made Marowak a special attacker
