@JoshIsMediocre appreciate the shiny Darkrai trade offer but I had no idea my shinedust was as low as it is at the moment. Many thanks.
yo i never thought to go here, but anyone that wants another active friend, feel free to add me! 1587584123368455 I actively share cards to anyone on my friends list that i can see is active! and i am down to make trades when i have doubles! i will try to check this thread more often moving forward in case i can assist others with cards.
Just sent you a friend request. You should add more cards to your wish list if you want to get more proposed trades... just a tip
i honestly only added the 3 cards on there to complete a challenge. most of my trading is done with a group chat i’m in. what i’ve started to do is just offer up my random doubles to friends on my list and if they offer back something i don’t have, i hit accept. i appreciate the tip- this is really the first time i’ve ever gone into a thread on the internet to add people as friends. the couple of random people i’ve made deals with outside of my group chat added me from finding my wonder pick or something.
Rocky Ridges >= Sparkling Skylands > Withered Wastelands > Bleak Beach I didn’t like Sparkling Skylands at first but it’s been growing on me. And it might end up being my favorite.
my partner just downloaded it and he's severely disappointed so far. game looks like shit on Switch 2, a large chunk of Pokemon can't be transferred from home, and only a small number of held items are available. seems others on Reddit are expressing similar frustrations. maybe this all improves, but it's not the best first impression.
They are moving the competitive format to this and that uses rotating rulesets. So that's the reason for the limited dex and items.
The game doesn't look like shit on my Switch 2 it just doesn't look like anything special. Don't understand that complaint at all.
idk, we encountered a good number of fuzzy assets, framerate drops, and instances where graphics wouldn't even fully load when scrolling through menus. i get that it's designed to run on all Switch systems and mobile devices simultaneously, so i'm not expecting incredible graphical fidelity. but when you're touting this as a replacement for online competitive play, it's not a good look when you're running into these issues on your flagship console.
I agree that Champions doesn't look that great on a Switch 2 (although I also don't think it looks ~that~ bad, but maybe I'm just at a point where I expected very little from Pokémon lol), but there's apparently an upgrade for Switch 2 coming soon that was previously announced and just wasn't out Day 1 for some reason? I think the super restricted format is really really interesting, a lot of the really strong stuff from the last few Gens is missing and a lot of the really high power held items being gone might end up creating a really unique meta for the first format, which is a lot of fun! Also extremely glad to see EVs do in fact carry over, so if you do all your prep in another game you only have to spend 5VP for 1 EV point which is truly fantastic and does a lot to soothe my worries that the VP cost was going to make team building really restrictive. Very glad to see VP doesn't seem particularly hard to get either, you get like 21K dumped in your lap just for doing the tutorials and importing at least one Pokémon from Home. Was more than enough to get a Venusaurite and then a bunch of cosmetics and still have 6K left, and then playing like 5 battles got me back up above 8k. I don't think it's going to be obsoleting Showdown or anything (I can't imagine anyone truly thought that was going to happen), but it's definitely a very enjoyable way to experience competitive Pokémon and will probably be something I play a ton of going forward.
i think it's included in the base download for Switch 2, as the storage capacity matches (or slightly exceeds) what's on the eShop (2.1 GB vs. 1.9 GB for Switch 1). maybe others are somehow getting better fidelity/performance (and it's cool that others seem to be enjoying it), but at least right now, it feels like a step down visually from what i think could be expected on the Switch 2.
Only got to work through the tutorial last night but looking forward to playing some tonight. Unfortunately there seems to be quite a few bugs with some move mechanics, like with moves like Fake Out and Encore. Hopefully they'll get it patched out quickly.
VGC/Ranked Doubles has never had a sleep clause as far as I'm aware. I think the weirdest thing is them removing choice band/specs, assault vest, life orb, etc. I guess they are maybe just trying to start with a lower level ruleset to onboard new players but I hope they bring those items back in the future.
