Ya I'm doing a bit of the opposite. After I finish this water pokemon lodge I'll be heading cliffside to build houses on stilts for my flying Pokemon. I think I'd get too overwhelmed if I had all the areas open. I did go to the second area to find some more blueprints though and found the walkways for my water lodge so it may become necessary to advance to find the ideal building materials.

 

Without spoiling anything - I feel like advancing a bit is more beneficial to you.

I decided to try and get a shiny Abra on FireRed and got it yesterday after about 12 hours. You can buy over 50 at a time in the gamecorner (apparently over 80 on LeafGreen) so you end up going through ~500 per hour. Way faster than any other soft reset shiny hunt I’ve ever tried

 

Yes, each zone is a town in Kanto and they seem to be modelled off a lot of the Let's Go Pokemon assets. The first area is Fuchsia , I'm currently in the fifth zone but so far have seen Pallet Town, Vermillion City, Pewter City, and Saffron City
