$20 (each!!!!) for direct ports with absolutely no changes except Home support (eventually) and ticket events we could already cheat in 20 years ago is a bit rough, think I'll probably pass on them. Maybe if they'd had online trading too so that you at least aren't locked out of exclusives? If they'd been $10 each I probably would've picked up Leaf Green at least, but at those prices with the feature set as they are, I might as well just play Let's Go and save my money, no? I don't think abilities and the Sevii Islands are worth that, haha. I am glad they're releasing them at all though, it's nice for people who never got to play them before or if they go on sale, maybe I'll grab one. Leaf Green is still one of my favourite Pokémon games, so it's great that it's available if I ever want it.
There’s a lot about the way these are released that’s annoying to me but the weirdly biggest one is that for a standalone paid non-NSO release they couldn’t be bothered to even update the aspect ratio to fit the Switch correctly
I'm holding out for now, just because even though I am Genwunner-adjacent, I just know those games by heart, and Pokopia is coming soon. Now if it were Johto that would be another story, it has been since HG/SoSi came out since I played through Johto.
I will definitely pick up one of FRLG but I would’ve stopped my life for HG/SS Unsure if anyone plays the tabletop TCG or collects but I’m begging for a Gen 2 set at some point
That's the only region I haven't played fully now. I started on an emulator on my old computer but it died.
Found a loose copy of Pokemon Silver GB at a random pawn shop while out of town on a work trip... Almost bought it, kind of want to go back and get it.. 80 bucks.. Also saw loose copies of red and blue for 170 (with gameboy) haha
so excited for FRLG tomorrow. pretty sure i only ever played those games once or twice like 15 years ago. probably going with leaf green but i'm not 100% sure yet. this also gives me hope they'll continue to add more older games to the switch moving foward.
