Scarlet progress: 6 gyms, 4 titans, and 3 Team Star Crews. I have like 5 questline things left until I get into endgame of everything.
Alright done with all the gyms, titans, and Team Star crews. Next up is the Elite 4, but I gotta grind it out some more before then. Most of my roster is in the mid-50's and I wanna get at least 10 level jump before the endgame stuff.
I went from being hater a to thinking they’re okay to this is one of my favourite games of all time with ScVi
Definitely way better than some people made it out to be. Looks beautiful on Switch 2. Still have some criticisms though: The gym tests are stupid. The map menu is annoying and bad. It can be a little buggy. There is a lot of text bubbles in some parts that feel like a chore.
I really want to fire it up on the switch 2, but I really don’t want to have to slog through the beginning story elements again.
Alright my team is all at like level 64. Time for the endgame stuff. For the endgame I am trying a real balanced roster of Water/Fire/Grass/Rock/Psychic/Bug.
Alrighty. Done with the Elite Four and Geeta. Beat Nemona. Done with Arven and the Titan stuff. Beat Penny and the Team Star stuff (weakest arc in the game imo). Now all I got is the Area Zero crater stuff. Probably gonna take a break and finish this game later.
@Halitosis Jones Your posts made me start Violet for the third time and I found a shiny Psyduck in the tutorial zone
Not yet. I will probably take a long break and play the DLC later in the year. I remember I got the DLC for Shield and then barely played it.
The DLC isn’t too bad. I enjoyed it more than the main game. I just really dislike open world maps like Paldea. The design of the region holds back the entire game and everything feels so repetitive. A donut-shaped map like this works better for something like Fornite. It just begins to blur together if I play for more than 30 minutes. Hopefully the island-hopping and diving in Wind/Waves makes exploration more fun.
Compared to the linear routes of previous games, a big circular open map just doesn’t feel as memorable, imo. I can recall entire regions by memory based on the different routes. I have 120 hours into Violet and doubt I could honestly draw each area and its environment by memory. But it’s the first open world from GameFreak, so I think they can improve it. At least WiWa having disconnected islands may help each area feel more distinct.
I definitely need think the map lacked imagination etc. in some ways but I wouldn’t want to back to routes and random encounters etc
