I know pulling packs is fun, but if you're just looking to get some cards to get him started, look at a website like Coolstuffinc, and buy a bunch of singles. You can get a bunch of full-art cards for like $1 a piece, which is all my kids want. I can buy a pack for $5 and get nothing they want, or I can spend $5 and get them 5 cards they actually want.
This has just been in the last couple weeks he has shown interest so I think he just wants to have some cards to show/play with his friends. I don't think he knows or cares about different types of cards yet. But then again if we buy him cards and they look different than his friends, maybe he'll say something about how they're different lol He of course already "likes" pikachu, charizard (he's a big dragon/dinosaur kid as is), and my wife told him about Mewtwo lol. But this is just 5 and 6 year olds talking about whatever with them and having cards so I don't really know how "into it" any of them are in depth. We did let him start watching the original show though so he's learning about some pokemon through that.
Oooo, yes this might be a way to go, PM me details as I've never really paid for shipping like that before haha
@David87 maybe get him one of those battle academy sets that teaches you how to play, literally no one buys those so should be easy to find. Gives you a bunch of cards for a deck and you can play together.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Battle Academy : Target Is this what you're talking about? If so that's a great idea--I truly am seemingly one of the few 30-somethings that never played it or bought the cards, so learning how to play would be a good idea for me too so I Can help him out if he really gets into it lol Thank you!
Yeah, that's it. A great way to start if you want to actual battle, has everything you need in 3 different decks (60 cards each). Make sure you keep them seperate as they're boxed together for a reason (fire deck, electric deck, and dark deck). Comes with a game mat, coin, and all the damage counters you need. Let me know if you still want me to ship you some others or if you'd rather start with that.
I'll definitely take any others you're willing to send! Worst case scenario is he gets sick of it and we have another toy laying around the house, but these friends he's been talking about it with will be in his class next year as well, so it could stick if they're all still doing it next year too
The map of the city in Z-A from the official Pokemon site. Still not sold on it taking place entirely in a city. I like mountains
wait i have this and have never played it. do you want it? i can send it to you. i have no use for it!
I don’t have Lunala unfortunately. But I’m still missing Alolan Raichu ex and Dhelmise ex if anyone has an extra of those they could trade!
I actually just got an extra one the other day! There are still a couple EXs I need from that set if you have extras
After using all my saved hourglasses and doing the new solo battles to get more. Not too bad for the first day.
As someone who still hasn’t finished sun/moon I’m also just obsessed with there being a pokemon named Guzzlord with a move called Grindcore
