Dang, part two of Pokemon Horizons on Netflix was great. It’s crazy part three is coming August 9th already. It’s an adventure series with less focus on battles and more on the characters. I dig it.
What’s up with the Gold/Silver Battle OSTs making it sound like every fight was a fight to the death? It’s upbeat like Red/Blue were but every track sounds so desperate and sinister. The SMTV battle OSTs remind me of it a lot.
Been feeling very anxious so I went back to watching and then playing Pokemon. I feel of Shield when it came out, but I starter over and breezed through it. Dare I say a really good Pokemon game? I finished Violet last year, so it’s a little early to do it all again, so I picked up Arceus and am a few hours into it. Really fun.
I've been enjoying Arceus, but curious how much gameplay I have left? I just got access to Braviary in the Icelands, which seems like the last major location on the map. I was sort of expecting a much larger map/longer main storyline
I don't remember the exact plot but I feel like there's a decent amount of story left with the legendaries
I've been playing the TCG on TCG Live lately, it's pretty fun! Lost to a Kingdra deck the other day though, so seeing it pop up there... horrifying... nice pulls though! I kinda wanna start collecting real cards too but it just seems too pointless since I'd never use them, probably haha
It’s just dopamine opening a pack and seeing a rare card lol. I have a binder for each type and cataloging and organizing is therapeutic. Also, I have some students with extreme behaviors I may or may not have used Pokémon cards as rewards. Whatever works works.
I'm considering getting back into Pokemon cards, but I'm a huge buy/sell/trade person at heart, and so I'm a little conflicted on buying to flip and then to potentially have a collection worth taking to shows, or ripping tons of packs for the dopamine hits and keeping them all in a binder and looking at them when I get sad, haha. I've been following the PokeInvesting subreddit the last few days to get a feel for what's popular, then pulled the trigger on 10 boxes of the 151 booster bundles. We'll see what happens when they get here.
TEN?! Holy smokes lol. I'm sorta of in the same vein as you. Wanting to buy some cards to rip some packs with some friends at work and then my wife. Kinda want to play the game with the wife as well. Use to play back in...... 1999-2002. Just some something new to do. (and excuse to rip packs). Speaking of 1999. I still have all my old cards. So, I have the entire original base set. Many multiples(just no multi for holos). A good handful of those are the borderless variants. No 1st editions. I DID have a 1st edition holo Chancy(I think), but traded that and another card to get a slightly bent Charizard. I was never able to pull a Charizard. This was back when every Sunday morning, my parents would take me to Books-a-Million to hang at the Pokemon league and battle and trade with all the Poke nerds. It was a cool, simpler time.... I also have the entire Jungle set and all but 2-3 of those are 1st editions. Fossil set I didn't go as heavy on and don't have near as many. Team Rocket set I have more and a lot of 1st editions including 1st Holo Dark Charizard. I have many multiple of the common and uncommon cards as 1st edition's. A few Gym Leader cards. I have some other random promo cards too. Everything I have has been safely in a binder since like 2001. I kinda of want to sell, but also just enjoy....having them. Its a weird conflict. I do want to sell the multiples. I know that wont be for much. Couple weeks ago I bought the Silver Tempest elite trainer box and a couple of packs of Twilight Mask. Yesterday I did a Obsidian Flame ETB (for that cool Charmander card), 3 packs of Stella Crown, and 4 Shrouded Fable. TODAY I spent $123 or so on 151 packs lol. x2 Zapdos bundle with 4 packs, and then x2 packs of 6. Seemed like a good price on Walmart.com vs other pricing on TCGPlayer and ebay/Amazon.
Ngl the new Pokemon Emerald Seaglass ROMhack art style is super pretty. Recharged Yellow and Unbound seem really cool, too
TCG Live is still gonna be the "real" TCG app, with the standard TCG rules, etc. Pocket is going to be a Duel Links (if you're familiar with Yugioh) style version of the TCG, with smaller decks, automatic energy, etc, to facilitate faster, mobile play. So they're both gonna exist and be used, just different styles of gameplay.
I’ve just been playing the quick matches every so often but it’s kind of stagnant once you get to a high level, takes a long time to unlock another pack.
Very fun match, I love watching those 2 face each other (or anyone), you can tell they have a lot of fun with it. Congrats to morg! Happy to see y'all thriving @Penguin
